This week’s meeting is on Monday, April 27, from 5:00-5:50 PM at Ackerman 3516. The topic this week is Engaging the Audience: Powerful Storytelling. Interesting speeches are often supported by personal stories or links. Some people have led dramatic lives, surviving near-death experiences, but most of us haven’t. That doesn’t mean you don’t have interesting and even motivating stories to tell. Stories are best when you have directly experienced or witnessed them. Even a short conversation can be a great story. A well-told story deepens both the connection to your audience and the understanding of your material. In business, that’s a pathway to success.
In this week’s activity, you will learn to create a speech centered around an interesting personal story. Come join us for a 50-minute training and practice!
