Week 4: Elevate Your Speech With Hand Gestures

MLKI hope you all enjoyed the 5th Annual Bruin Speech Contest last Wednesday! This week’s meeting is on Monday, April 20, from 5:00-5:50 PM at Ackerman 3516. The topic this week is to Elevate Your Speech With Hand Gestures. Hand gestures are an important tool in public speaking as they can accentuate important points and make your speech powerful and natural. However, do you know what are effective hand gestures? Do you know that weak or awkward hand gestures and body language can distract your audience? It is extremely important to have deliberate, strong hand gestures to convey confidence while speaking.

In this week’s activity, you will get an opportunity to practice and start forming the habit of utilizing effective hand gestures in speeches. Come join us for a 50-minute training and practice!
